Food and the Climate & Ecological Emergency

We produced a talk and discussion for, Extinction Rebellion Oxford, on the state or our Food & Farming system because if we succeed in decarbonising the economy but don’t transition to a sustainable food system, there will still be a Climate & Ecological Emergency.

Our speakers were Kath Dalmeny, CEO of Sustain, the alliance for better food and farming, and an old friend Miles King from People Need Nature.

This dynamic dialogue with questions from the audience covers: What a sustainable food system looks like; Jobs in food & farming; Land use and carbon stores; Changing land use to mitigate the Climate & Ecological Emergency; Changing society and how we consume through a new food culture – creation rather than destruction; Campaigning for a better system; Who/what is blocking change.
